Paris based Elli Ioannou is comfortable as an artist working in both the commercial and art-photography worlds. With 18 years experience specialising in fashion photography, her creative repertoire now includes: director (video & photography), photomedia artist , mentor & educator in higher education (Paris & Melbourne)
Relocating from Australia to Paris in 2016, Elli became officially accredited media with Fédération Française de la mode for Paris Fashion week, covering couture, mens & ready-to-wear. This has provided valuable a global network and insights of the fashion industry beyond photography which she shares within her many teaching programs .
With 14 years of photography teaching experience in Australian higher education,Elli has written and delivered fashion photography programs with Parsons Paris New School & fashion film for undergraduate and Masters at PCA (Paris). In Australia : Photography Studies College, RMIT University, Victoria University , AAD & Whitehouse Institute of Design. Adapting some of the programs she wrote to workshops in Paris for professional development including street-style fashion photography at Paris fashion week and narratives of fashion editorial.
Described as 'ethereal', 'sensual' and 'beautifully haunting', her photographs have been commended by luminaries such as UK publishing icon, Terry Jones (W magazine, The Face & I-D magazine) Jan Breen Burns (The Age Fashion Editor) & Australian designer Kit Willow (KITX) .
