I have found Elli to be an inspirational educator and mentor, and this was clearly demonstrated during this workshop.
My passion is fashion photography and creating a portfolio of work that represents my passion. Elli went above and beyond to create this workshop regarding location, style and direction which has greatly benefited my understanding of fashion editorial and narratives in photography. ’In the workshop with Elli Ioannou I learnt about the key elements of fashion narratives and got hands-on experiences to create a series of photos which tell a story.
I have created a lot of photos before, but I felt my old photos lacked of something that could tie things together. Now I feel I am more confident in creating narratives with photos and bringing my own unique perspective to it.
It made me aware of the “languages” I can use to create editorials. I also got to know how to choose a theme that ties my photo series together.

I feel l have benefited in gaining more confidence in pursuing a career in fashion photography. It had ignited passion and fuelled my desire to seek out and learn more. I am personally grateful for what Elli has taught me so far and look forward working together for future collaborations. The direction was smooth, the models amazing, what we didn’t know we learnt quickly which was part of the fun and the location was beautiful. I felt the ambience really set the tone.

For the Portfolio: I have a completely better understanding of all the hard work it takes in producing the final product. Learning along the way has been extremely amazing. I have immensely enjoyed this journey to date and look forward to learning more in the future. When you take into account all the elements in producing a portfolio and collaborating with a team of skilled people, then it all comes together.

It was an amazing experience seeing & photographing PARIS HAUTE couture on the streets and also having the opportunity to photograph some fashion shows . Attending + photographing runway for the first time l was blown away by the atmosphere and sheer experience of it all. It definitely elevated my photography!
Elli is extremely professional and has a wonderful personality, I have no regrets in doing this workshop and all l can keep on saying to anyone thinking about doing a workshop like this: JUST DO IT! It will be life changing.!

I would recommend this workshop for someone starting out in fashion photography. This was a perfect way to be part of the amazing fashion world in Paris and have an insider’s look into the basics and what is needed to shoot fashion week. Elli ran the workshop in a way that was clear and enjoyable. We were able to experiment and go at our own pace while also being pushed to go out of our comfort zones throughout the whole week. She was helpful with any issues we had and created a safe environment.

Elli Ioannou is a great teacher who knows a lot about her craft and was a great mentor to have during this experience at PARIS FASHION WEEK. This program not only taught me the skills that I need to be a photographer in this industry, but also the confidence in myself that is needed in order to be a successful artist. It was fun, educational, and exciting and I loved being a part of it. After this program, I feel that I could carry myself to shoot in any fashion show, because we were not only taught skill set, but also composure and confidence.I would recommend this program to anyone who is considering, it was applicable to any skill set of photography, and was the experience of a lifetime.

Elli takes a very genuine and unique approach to education and teaching. As a professor, she presents information in such a foundational, and thorough way to her students and creates a fun, clear, and engaging environment for learning and skill building. As her student, coming from a very multidisciplinary background in the performance and visual arts, she really encourages a strong interdisciplinary approach to her course content. I was a part of her Masters Fashion Film course at the Paris College of Art, and it truly changed my life in the understanding of fashion, photography, and film. . Elli really pushed me outside of my comfort zone, and allowed me to see my work in a completely different way. My work has drastically evolved since having her as my professor. Her unique delivery, authenticity, passion, drive, and genuine belief in her students, is one in a million.

The workshop that I attended taught by Elli Ioannou was nothing short of one of the best weeks of my life. Shooting at Paris Fashion Week had been a dream of mine for a long time. Elli taught the skills and completely prepared you for the craziness of fashion week, all whilst having fun. She is an amazing teacher and always wants the best for her students. She is constantly trying to make sure every student is photographing to the best of their capabilities and she opens so many opportunities up for her students. I could not recommend her workshops enough. I can guarantee that you will have an experience of a lifetime that you will not be able to get anywhere else.

CREATIVE MENTORING -art exhibition
Elli was pivotal for the editing of my Collage Art exhibition. She helped me identifying the stronger pieces to show and to put them together to create the right harmony and impact. She also made me rethink about some pieces that were not strong enough or impactful. In general, Elli is my point of reference in all my visual projects as she has a great eye and visual culture, she is able to study the best strategy to present the project and, very important, she puts you at ease no matter how crazy your idea is!
