Elli takes a very genuine and unique approach to education and teaching.
As a professor, she presents information in such a foundational, and thorough way to her students and creates a fun, clear, and engaging environment for learning and skill building. As her student, coming from a very multidisciplinary background in the performance and visual arts, she really encourages a strong interdisciplinary approach to her course content. I was a part of her Masters Fashion Film course at the Paris College of Art, and it truly changed my life in the understanding of fashion, photography, and film. She drew from my passions in dance, and art direction, and helped me channel it through post-production and final execution. She really pushed me outside of my comfort zone, and allowed me to see my work in a completely different way. From going through the purpose of an effective fashion film, to the specific details and contents that put everything together -- she allowed me to turn my traditional fine art still images, to moving pieces of art.
My work has drastically evolved since having her as my professor. Her unique delivery, authenticity, passion, drive, and genuine belief in her students, is one in a million.
